I've been making posts about the intersections of autism and PMDD, and of autism and menopause, on this site for almost a year now.

My symptoms are no different now than when I began to report them at the GP level and I'm beginning to put together the following statement.

My appointments with gynecologists have seen these doctors writing out prescriptions for medications costing hundreds of $$ while, in the next breath, they disclose,

"We don't know if this will be the thing that helps you, we don't know enough."

It's 2026.

Not good enough.

Loved Heated Rivalry, but your bookshop / library won't have the book available till, like, February? Don't worry, fam.

I gotcha covered. Check out these assorted ✨ queer 🏈 sports 🎾 romances ⚽ while you wait!

Then, in July, I'll be presenting a paper about polyamory in Gothic Horror, featuring the brides of Dracula, for Romancing the Gothic that's run by @romgothsam.bsky.social!

Couldn't be more excited actually.

2026 seems like it's setting up to be my very own Dracula Era and I am here for it!

It's that time of year again!

Looking back, I actually finished drafts of more than one piece. I have at least two story ideas I'm happy to go into the new year developing.

I didn't necessarily work on what I expected to do this year, but fun was had. At the end of the day, isn't that the point?

Let is Snow is an ensemble teen cast but it does have a cute sapphic story with the two ladies on the right.

If the writer’s eyes light up when asked, “why did the character do that?” then it’s real.

The below passage perfectly encapsulates what I've been terming as having coming down with a "chronic illness" this past year and a bit.

Also present in my own experience is the professional disinterest contrasted with my own proactive efforts to educate myself.

Me again. There is talk about how menopause absolutely shits on people with autism.

The first study, a preliminary participatory study, on the effects of menopause on people with autism was published in 2020. This is what the authors had say of the situation:

Today in: Nik attempts to futureproof their essay (and cover their a$$ 😂)

Okay last update for the day! 🤞

I've 'finalised' the list for a chapter on contemporary analysis of polyamorous romance published after 2010.

It turns out a lot of you are here! @amergina.bsky.social @rdotspoon.bsky.social @garrettleigh.bsky.social @krisripper.bsky.social you heard it here first 💙

I don't know why I'm so terrible with leaving proper in text referencing till 'later'. If I was like this with grammar, I'd kick my own ass so much more often.

To keep the mood low, I made this figure to depict the skewed nature of polyamorous stories and the forms our othering typically takes.

You guys would let me know if I was going too hard, wouldn't you? 😅

Not to mention this passage is as true of the homosexuality in IWTV as of the polyamorous vampire family in A Dowry of Blood

Further, Lestat‘s attempt to socially isolate those he purports to care for in the first half of this story can be seen as a similar to threat to Dracula’s in the latter book

Hiiiii #WeeknightWriters.

This is super good timing because I'm in a bit of a slump with writing this week and I reckon connecting with other writer excitement is the way to solve my problem!

My main WIP is a dystopia right now cause Eat The Rich!!

Serious follow up thought, though:

If I were to open a small press publishing only #polyamorous #writing of fiction / #poetry / #essay / #art, I'd call it Sex Is Great But Literary.

Let's just say... @sexisgreatbutlit.bsky.social for short, if being constrained by a character limit 😅

It's 2025. Is it still too soon to see an independent publishing house opening its doors solely to polyamorous fiction?

I'm not fussy, Really, I'll take polyamory in literally every genre I can get it including, but of *course* not limited, to

As an asexual polyamorous person, I think about this all the time.

I'm even in the middle of an essay, analysing 27 polyamorous stories published between 2010-2024, that features the line:

In February 2019, I was the proud editor of an anthology called Happiness in Numbers.

It was a trailblazer - not just because it was the first anthology to tell solely polyamorous stories, but because it was then, and is still today, the only polyamorous anthology without sex at its core.

This pattern didn’t call for the text at the top but, hell, I had some space in the frame and thought I’d use the words to fill it.
September 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Last of the outlines done 😍

I’m really enjoying watching this one come to life and I hope you are too!
September 7, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Nawww, look, she already looks so cute!

Was working on this yesterday while the family was over… long story short, I’m now doing a second one of these for my nephew. 😅

The moment you realise you‘ve been spending too much time writing your Melbourne based dystopia comes when you see this perfectly lovely picture of Melbourne right now and think,

“Hmm, that looks like the perfectly manicured park spaces I was writing about yesterday.”
