My parents were Republicans but would probably be deemed RINOs these days. My mom was a life-long Rep, but also a pro-choice absolutist - I think the last Rep she voted for President was Nixon.

Actually, few of the HHS secretaries have had medical expertise. What they had was a belief in science and the willingness to listen to people who *did* have medical expertise.
(I worked at HHS 2002 to 2020 and Tom Price was the only Secty. with medical experience - and he was awful.)

That was just plain stupid. Any competent HR person knows that you cut off access before you fire someone - for exactly this reason.
