When you land your friend a job, and they get an over $40k raise, they should say thank you right? That's a shitty friend right? They told me today (Thurs) after they got it and signed back on Monday... That's so lame right? Ugh!

I've mainly only ever worked in the public sector, where salaries are fixed to a pre-set, tax-based budget, and mid-year raises legally don't exist.

Seven months ago, I landed my first ever private sector job, and today, I got my first ever merit-based raise! Go me 🥰
