Some theoretical two-state solution is not enough. If we don't want Netanyahu and the current Israeli government to represent us, we need to be the ones who offer that vision, because the big Z Zionists are out there every day insisting that any criticism of the Israeli government is antisemitic.

And just to your original point, I want to see more Jews definitively state that a vision for the future of the region that does not rest on an apartheid state. It may be unfair that big Z Zionists have shaped the use of the word but that's where we're at. Hand-waving towards

But I try hard not to paint the whole movement with that brush because at least where I live, it's led mostly by young Arabs, mostly first-generation, and it's very real and visceral. It's about their families and what's happening in a place that they feel a very real connection to.

Yeah, there are definitely elements of that among some. I think it's true within any movement that is not led by the people it seeks to liberate, but Palestine became the number 1 issue to a lot of people pretty quickly and so there's even more of it.

I'm shocked he got there. Jillette has always seemed like the ideal candidate for libertarianism -- well-spoken but not really thoughtful -- and it genuinely surprises me he evolved past that.

I have clients submitting AI-written reports to donors that give them six figures annually. These reports are riddled with factual errors, and a year ago we would go line-by-line to triplecheck every fact. It's bizarre.

Being lauded while the Palestinians are ignored or demonized. And they're pessimistic about the future of this work when the US and the Israel seem committed to their massacre. It isn't a universal sentiment, of course, but I hear "normalization" thrown around a lot more than I did 10 years ago.

I hear where you're coming from. I will say, having worked with a lot of Palestinians who worked with small z zionists on these types of projects through a social enterprise incubator, that there is a level of exhaustion and desperation. They are tired of the Israelis doing these types of projects

The sad thing is the Dems have talked about a Project 2028 but not a Project 2026. They don't see Congress as a co-equal branch, which is part of why Trump has been able to get everything he wants.
