I actually did several sketches before (quick studies of other people's renderings included, + couple entelodons)

also Andrewsarchus.
I need to learn how to make it more pig/hippo-like :|
but I sort of like how there's a kind of tacit consent in most images to make it this range of colors

A quick snow hare (Lepus timidus). Fits the current weather

I was suddenly inspired yesterday night and I made myself a tiny tiger charm with shrink plastic. Figuring out what pens and markers work best is no small feat 🥲
January 31, 2026 at 10:57 AM
oops, forgot I took progress photos

Cervus elaphus/red deer. I'm especially proud of this one, for once after 1+ years of watercolor classes I felt in control of what I was doing (ok, except for the tree shapes in the back, maybe the paper was a little too wet 😅)

sketching tigers is always fine

I've had "The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling" for a while now but only recently gotten around to actually study some of the stuff in it. Here are some pages

Latest watercolor I finished last week: lesser spotted woodpecker

First museum sketching of the year!
We stayed so long, I was so tired 😂 But I recently got myself a tiny foldable stool which is not too bad

I had this paper where I practiced watercolor blotches on lying around, so I drew one more xenacanthus on it
January 11, 2026 at 9:07 AM
It's #sundayfishsketch here's orthacanthus!
(maybe not exactly accurate but I'm just sketching)

one more for you!

Reply with a piece of palaeoart that deeply influenced you as a child.

Does video media count? Because this is it for most Italians, hands down.

So I still wanted to try my hand at the last subject of the paleoart workshop I attented back in November, which was Amphimachairodus giganteus. I've been doing some sketches to explore but I'm very insecure with this animal😅

...and bobcat. Felines will never be boring ok
It was just a random sketch I referenced from some photo, no special planning, hence the pointless pose 😅

A lynx, watercolor

Someone needs to teach me how to properly scan and edit scans with real media. I've done none for so long I don't know anymore 😩

Boreal owl. I drew this with a grid which is something I never to and I was curious to try for a change. Inked with fineliners

I wanted to do a few more for #Dinovember2025 but alas, November fled
This is supposedly bruhathkayosaurus, which I picked for the sole reason that once I read it very convincingly as bruhthankyousaurus, multiple times.
Pose vaguely inspired by Gertie

I kept forgetting to take a photo... I made some shrinky dinks!
They are fun! I even had some friends over one day and we had a shrinky dink party day as if we were 8yo!
(triggerfish is a magnet, noAI is a pin I keep on my jacket)

For #SundayFishSketch I sketched a couple opah, which I know everybody did a while ago but I missed out and really wanted to draw some too
Today I colored one. See people, I used the markers! 🙌
December 1, 2025 at 12:46 PM
Who hasn't seen these in a while? In lack of anything better to do, I tried them all and they still work! These are...20... years old 😶
Does this make me good (kept them in good shape) or bad (haven't used them) at hoarding art materials
November 30, 2025 at 3:52 PM
feline sketches from my sketchbook (+ 1 coyote)
I, too, jumped on the acrylic markers bandwagon, but I'm not using them near enough
November 29, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Erythrosuchus commissioned to me by @itsfizactually.blueartfox.com as a gift to their brother who is a fan (!)
How to say no to the opportunity to draw more weirdo creatures!
It doesn't fit into #dinovember properly but it's still a cool animal so I'll still mention the hashtag 😤

Loosely referenced from my own photos!
