Rescued from dereliction after failing when run by Marston’s, Duncan and Grace have created a wonderful #pub in the centre of Oswestry. It’s a deserved winner of CAMRA’s National Pub Of The Year, and well worth a visit. Congratulations!

Today is the 10th anniversary of the only defeat of the Coalition Government in the House of Commons over legislation. It gave us the Market Rent Only option and strengthened the Pubs Code legislation.

Yet so many campaigners still feel frustrated and the pub trade remains at a low ebb.

Some cracking pubs in this list, though how they will survive the triple whammy of the anti-pub Dry January, NIC hikes and the loss of business rate relief, who knows?
