Comments (by Sarah Canzoneri) in the tradition of my late mother, Faire Edwards, long-time social activist. My opinions, but I'm sure she'd approve.
Forgot to add that, according to Census bureau, median sale price of new houses sold in August 2025 was $413,500. www.census.gov/construction...

Aside from the fact that DJT took info on one builder & treated it as if was for all new housing in US, the story is more complicated. This looks like it may be one source of the doctored graph: wolfstreet.com/2025/12/17/l...

The key phrase in Miller's post is "from the third world". He would have no problem at all with more white Italian immigrants.

Yes. One could almost feel sorry for him. Reading about it reminded me of A.A. Milne’s “King John’s Christmas” If only Trump were as harmless as King John & would be satisfied with a big red India-rubber ball. www.thereader.org.uk/featured-poe...

This sounds like something from The NY Times Pitchbot.

Now I think about it, my time becoming the family champ at “I Doubt It” was excellent childhood prep for becoming a lawyer. Key to that game is planning ahead to avoid having to lie at crucial moments.

He said checks for $1776 were in the mail to 1.4M soldiers & no one knew about it “until 30 minutes ago”. Shouldn’t that be front page news? As sign of his mental incapacity. Along with his claim of 600% drops in drug prices.

There is no such thing as a horrific gingerbread house. Just gingerbread houses with character.

Good point. And worth noting he wrote this after were reports that the killer was Reiner's son.

Thanks for posting. Makes me feel old recalling it, tho I never lived in NYC. Now, as a long time post-Covid DCer, the local Bloomies is uninteresting.

Think the more apt comparison is to Kristallnacht. Where a shooting became the excuse for persecution of innocents. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristal...

I keep thinking about the parallels to events leading up to Kristallnacht. And how Trump & Miller are already using this shooting as a pretext to oppress more immigrants.

Did the episode cover people who end up drying their hands on their clothes after the blow dryers prove ineffective?

Well, only 2% of immigrants were turned back from Ellis Island, so we know this guy has trouble with fractions. Not a reason to take anything else he says seriously.

That is not correct. Retired members of Congress can buy insurance under the same program as other retired federal employees. They do not get free healthcare, either in office or after they leave office.

$500 would be a remarkably cheap hospital stay for someone with no insurance. Might be enough for a brief ER visit no tests. Maybe.

Also ask why he doesn’t. And add some might suspect the delay is to give Pam Bondi time to cleanse the files of info that incriminates Trump.

Yes. Recent examples are March for Life and protests that saved ACA in 2017.

Their pain yes. But I’d say more their courage & humanity & the humanity of others. So much grace.
