I really don't mind that people don't like an album. That's fine. Different strokes etc. But people's extreme reactions, name calling, and lack of understanding simple metaphors is a little disheartening.

Even my go-to pop culture podcast has missed the mark with the long-time fan/journalist Swiftie calling Wi$h Li$t "she wants to live in a homogeneous place." She's experiencing the extremely normal feeling of wanting her kids to look like their dad!

France has had a moment about this not too long ago, too 🤦‍♀️ funnily enough, the French word for body lotion is the same as the word for milk, but that's never been an issue. It's only vegetarian/vegan foods that are targeted.

Mind you, a proportion of sports fans destroy public property and become guilty of domestic violence as reaction to something their team does, but people liking pop music and knowing the meaning of words is cultish behaviour. Okay.

A thought- I don't think there's a higher proportion of weird Swifties than in any other fandoms. It's just that there are more Swifties so, by definition, there are more weirdos in numbers. But most of us are pretty normal. Just like in any other fandom.

I might have to spend more time with this tomorrow because I LOVE this prompt, but I Think He Knows is a pink/purple ombré (kinda like a summer sky at sunset) and King Of My Heart is a pink/orange ombré (also a different kind of sunset).

That's really cool, I love that! When I was younger I also had a group of friends I'd met through message boards, I'm still in touch with some of them and it's been about fifteen years. The internet does pretty cool things sometimes!

Oh and also- I know we don't claim the bad place anymore, but back in the day my favourite band tweeted me back with a bunch of hearts and that remains one of the most special things ever.

I met my two oldest friends through my old blog ('twas the social media of our time and they tried to copy MySpace so it counts). Last year I went to friend number one's wedding, and this weekend I am meeting friend number two's daughter for the first time. 💗
