I thought this little ol' boy to be dead because there was some battery corrosion on one of the contacts. I just cleaned it with some lemon juice, found me some new batteries, located the only 2 games I own and look... IT STILL WORKS. 🤩
Brought on by its Lego version.

The brain is cooperating. I'm fixing my weave which unfortunately means I have to undo a fair bit of work before I can turn them the right way up. Lessons learned.

#SuttonHoo can be checked off the list of places I want to visit. 😃

Okay, none of the finds of the royal burial ground are actually still on the grounds - they're in the British Museum - but the replicas are nice too.

Obviously, the burial mounds are nice to see.

Homegrown strawberries are the best kind. They come in all shapes and sizes, and there are a lot. Last year I battled slugs but this year is slug-free so plenty to go around. Made jam already too cause ... like I said, plenty to go around. 😜

I know it's #MosaicMonday but does a chieftain's seashell upperfloor also count? This is from a Bronze age site in Spain. The man had taste and lived close to the sea.

Here we go... #AncientMesopotamia awaits once more.

For #MosaicMonday, I'm sharing a modern mosaic, which we did ourselves hoping that somewhere in our lineage was a Roman maker of mosaics. If we found it, it surely must have been an amateur but hey, the result doesn't look bad. The compass came like that, we just fitted it in the correct way.

Today, 6 years ago my mom passed away. She was suffering from #ParkinsonsDisease.

Credit for the drawing on the stone goes to @maaisayshi.bsky.social. 😊

A very cheerful mailman almost made me fall down the stairs as I ran down to open the door to receive a package, which immediately lifted my mood tenfold and wishing him happy holidays my smile grew... because this was in the package: my first vinyl ever. #TheRingsOfPower

It seems my skircle is a very generic one. 🤣 Though I detect a certain historical theme with a pinch of fantasy.

Got this in a Secret Santa gift exchange at my previous work once. The image reveals itself when you drink something hot. It's one my favorite mugs. 😄 #StarWars fan, I am.

Finn & Faro die hun neus even buiten steken om de belangrijke beslissing te kunnen maken: binnen of buiten.

Apparently it's #RomanSiteSaturday so how about this then: the #Carteia stairs, going up to the forum on top. They are the original stairs, in situ. The site is located near Algeciras and about 7% (!) is visible. It's big though, hosted nearly 15,000 citizens once.

I was thinking "hey, that looks familiar. I think I've been there."

*looks closer*

I was there 3 months ago in the middle of summer. 😊 It's a really nice tomb. (Pls ignore my 3 rock friends)

It's #MosaicMonday... but that may mean I have to dig deep in my images because the mosaics in #Carteia were covered up to protect them from wear, tear and other external factors.

Let's see what I can offer...

Ah, here we go ... #Lucentum (modern day #Alicante in #Spain)

For #StandingStoneSunday I introduce you to 3 of my bestest of traveling friends. Always with me, smiling yet generally very quiet and always up for an adventure: (l.t.r.) Josephine LaPierre (French), Joss Stone (Russian) & Pat McRock (Scottish).

Posing at #TheHurlers stone circle in #Cornwall.

Can I just really quickly say that I love my bedroom ceiling a lot since buying a star-projector... it's far from perfect but with a little imagination it's just right (my cats really love the laser stars).

I got it to better find sleep and deal with my anxiety attacks when they happen at night.

Visited an #ancientRoman site near #Algeciras (Spain) today of which only 7% is visible. For the most part #Carteia lies buried underneath petrochemical industry. Also unfortunately not accessible are the theater or the circus (both excavated). I bet, though, it would look splendid fully excavated.
