When Rude's fingers get stiff, the tips turning grey, Reno opens his mouth and lays them against his tongue. Rude groans into his ear at the hot needles of pain when they start to feel again.

Rude's hand is tucked over Reno's mouth and nose, keeping his humid breaths against Reno's own skin, preserving the heat between Rude's rough palm and Reno's chapped lips. Rude's mouth is buried in the shaggy mess of Reno's hair, his breath insulated in the strands.

Reno is not a small man, but he SEEMS small, tucked into the open parentheses of Rude's body. He has so much less--less clothes, less fat, less heat, he's so much less than Rude, so he tucks himself into a tiny comma to at least make his less-ness a positive, less of him to shelter.

They know what to do, of course. They've had all the training—the cold weather training, the hot weather training, the pain resistance training--they KNOW. They strip to pile all their clothes over both of them (more of Rude's than Reno's), they curl together to share heat.

I feel like Reno would have the potential to be that kinda hypocrite lol.

Like, I have a massage therapist I go to that I picked because I liked the neck tattoo in his profile photo (he iwas COVERED in 'em) and he one time was telling me about how hard he was trying to convince his 16 yr old daughter to NEVER get any tattoos.
