A brown skipper butterfly perches on top of a spiky unopened thistle bud. It is a small butterfly that holds its wings so that one pair points upward and one pair points sideways and has a short stocky body with tan fur. The large round dark eyes are widely spaced, and the face reminds me of a pug dog. Genus Polites, unknown species.
