Prison Reform Trust Associate and Child Impact Assessment lead Sarah Beresford outlines why peer support groups for children are so important. *The blog is based on an amalgamation of children’s experiences, and a pseudonym is used to ensure anonymity. Sophie* was struggling at school. The Perth and Kinross secondary school pupil was withdrawn and did not want to attend classes. Her Guidance teacher became aware that Sophie had a parent in prison and suggested that they complete a Child Impact Assessment together.
