Was fretting about work & regretting going (would’ve bailed if I hadn’t promised someone a lift who couldn’t o’wise have gone), but came home & did 2 ½ hours solid work, so it probably improved my productivity.
I shld remember that next time I’m telling myself I’m too busy for non-work activities!

Took a very necessary breather from trial prep to go to ringing practice in Clapton (our home tower out of action). Rang a touch of bob doubles, trebled to bob minor, tenored on reverse canterbury and (drum roll please)…rang Stedman doubles for the first time in a 1/4 century! (plain course obvs)🏅🔔

Shot taken through the woodwork and into the bell chamber, ropes and arms visible through the wood and arch.

Serious Q: Is there any organisation on the planet that isn’t currently (still) experiencing a high volume of emails & which doesn’t ask for patience?
Also, since the high volumes are always unprecedented aren’t we’re gonna need exponentially more patience to avoid some sort of global ragetastrophe?

Recently, the prime minister and the High Court did something extraordinary and welcome in respect of the UK security service MI5. The court had been misled in a material fashion by a senior MI5 official. Evidence had been submitted to the court which was false but also consequential. A lot hinged on the incorrect statement of fact.

This false evidence was then exposed. MI5 said it was very sorry and commissioned an investigation which found that the error had not been deliberate and had been conducted in good faith. Perhaps MI5 expected the court to nod along with this.

And then something remarkable happened. The court refused to nod along with the assurances that nothing untoward had happened. The court instead held that the MI5-commissioned investigation had been seriously flawed. The report could not be relied upon. Something else was needed.

I am very much over keeping on top of my husband’s tomato project while he is away. Made 8 boxes of passata yesterday. There is no more room for tomato sauce in fridge or freezer. And I never want to see another tomato.
