The comedic aspects are good, but I wish they were balenced better with the actual character and plot stuff, but the only plot thread through most of that part is "Argama needs to resupply and they're being chased" and the characters don't have enough room to have convincing drama

Yeah that walk scene would have been very satisfying... if it had come after seeing Alucard spiral into loneliness and ennui for a while which comes to a narrative breaking point and only THEN decides to trust again, it always saddened me that wasn't how it turned out

Tbh I don't think I would want 8 seasons, but at LEAST a 5th would have given time to let some events have more of an impact on characters, create a build up and give an ending that felt satisfying

Also I'm not sure I'm on board with the whole "Dracula and Lisa escaped hell at the end" angle

In retrospect I really liked S3 when I watched it but now that I think about it, I think S4 soured me on it unfairly

I should rewatch it sometime

I still think the first 2 seasons are solid and there's a lot about it I like, but there's so many things about it that don't land at all for me

Props for making Alucard a bi king tho that was extremely based

I have other issues with it, like how S3 and 4 feel directionless, the fact Alucard isn't affected long-term by the end of S3, and the way it treats magic and monsters felt deeply insecure to me

"Crosses give vampires seizures cos of science" doesn't work with this kind of fantasy, and it's lame
