Democrats allow Republicans to frame policy as a choice between being fiscally responsible and social welfare. WRONG! Having people get sicker and hungrier is more expensive and bad for everyone. The way to save money on Medicaid is to allow negotiations on drug prices, not to cut healthcare access.
Watching 90% of Democratic electeds botch every opportunity to defend social benefits and watching half of Democratic electeds regress in the name of bipartisanship 🙄

The US government arresting a judge for attempting to maintain the tenet of innocent until proven guilty is astonishing. We are allowed to be shocked. Do not allow yourself to be desensitized. This is a thinly veiled attempt to chill judges considering ruling against the Trump administration.

The DNC is finally waking up and doing some much needed self-reflection, particularly on being more democratic and less in the pocket of incumbents.
One of Bluesky's best principles has been that users decide what is important rather than the platform. Core to this principle has been an easy, neutral way to self verify. Now, without any need, Bluesky is organizing its users into castes to declare who is and is not noteworthy. Very Twitter-esque.

It's even more important to advocate for transparency and proper investigation in these cases early and locally now that we not only don't have an ally in the federal government but are targets of it.

Schumer may have legitimate legal considerations in his efforts to stop a government shutdown at all costs. But if Trump and DOGE are not following the law, the proper response from those who care about those laws is not to move the law closer to their actions; it's to hold them accountable.
