The final season of Stranger Things might be the most inefficient storytelling I’ve ever seen in a “prestige” show. It was overly long without any actual…meaning. So much money thrown at such a student film level.

We live in a dystopian society and why it’s so hard to notice that we do is because it doesn’t look like how it does in media. Flock cameras monitor where you go, Google/Nvidia/Microsoft monitor what you do, and Palantir monitors patterns and create predictive models for you.

Stranger Things has been one of the most consistently bad storytelling shows in history. There is no message, there is no theme - it’s just nostalgia neverending. Looking back we’ll consider it the first piece of “slop” content that had a stranglehold on popular culture.
