I asked a guard to help me find it and he had no idea what I was talking about!

F'n NYC. That's what I feared.

"Let's engage with more Philadelphians by giving money to a marketing company from New York City. I'm sure they'll know what Philadelphians like."

And I want to know where those consultants were from....

I don't think most people tour the museum with a docent though, at least I never have, and I've never had one approach me. Some of the guards will start convos though, which is always nice.

I can see that, but I'd been to PMA 12+ times and never saw it. It's pretty hidden off the Duchamp galleries. I didn't think I liked Duchamp so I never went there. Then I read about Étant donnés, went to PMA just to see it and had my mind changed about Duchamp. Those are the art experiences I want.

What I'll say is there are so many artists living in Philly NOW who'd love to have a piece at the Art Museum and there are so many pieces already in the Art Museum that would draw people in if they knew about them. I only discovered Étant donnés there last year after reading about it elsewhere.

Now we know why the Rocky statue remains atop the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is now calling itself the Philadelphia Art Museum or "PhAM."

I have THOUGHTS but I also have a deadline to meet on another story (😭) so I'd love to hear yours. 1/2

Shout out to the handful of PA and federal legislatures forgoing their pay. And to the ones saying they can't afford to miss a paycheck - you make more than $110,000 a year, your struggle is not even close those whose lives you are upending because you can't run a functional government. 2/2

As everyday folks are furloughed or forced to work w/o pay, as nonprofits like Philly's only rape crisis center are forced to lay off employees and pause services, as schools go w/o funding, it's reprehensible our state and federal politicians are still getting paid for not doing their damn jobs 1/2

I can't imagine earning $25 million a year and not absolutely excelling at my job.

All of Philly today:

OK these are amazing and I'm very jealous. Thanks for the photo! I've heard of the zoo keys but never saw one before!

That's an awesome shirt - and I take first-time Philly visitors to the Magic Gardens all the time! Such a special place and so Philly.

Love this, but it would be hard to gift it to someone. Philly just kind of gives you these moments when it thinks you're ready.

What is your favorite thing you have that screams Philly? And no, I'm not talking about your partners when they're yelling at the Phillies, I'm talking about objects and things.

Alternatively, what's the most Philly experience you've had that you recommend to others?

Toured the Battleship New Jersey for the first time yesterday. As always, I kept Philadelphia squarely in my sights.

I'm gonna need that Gritty to come standard with the set.

UPDATE: I'm gonna need everyone to vote for this on LEGO's Ideas page. We hold these truths to be self-evident. Please and thank you.

I'm going to need LEGO to come out with an Independence Hall set for the nation's 250th next year.

Minifigure that out asap, LEGO masters. Thank you.
