In her free time, you can find Lindsay working her community garden plot, playing beach volleyball, or hanging out with her black cat and 40 freshwater fish.

Lindsay’s background lies in food security and environmental advocacy, and her day to day is as a legal aid attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services. She provides free services to low-income patients on legal issues that are social determinants of health.

We are excited to focus even more on local sourcing, and we also believe that continuing to work with farmers in farther-flung, in-state regions is meaningful 1) to increase access to seasonal produce varieties and 2) to connect farmers in rural areas to the unique market that Los Angeles provides.

The LA Urban Rural Roundtable defines ‘foodshed’ as a geographical area that produces food for a region’s occupants; the LA foodshed encompasses 10 counties in Southern California, including all those bordering LA County, and extending up to San Luis Obispo and down to Imperial. 🧵(2/3)
