We have a call for new editors at the Indian Law Review. Details in the screenshot and alt-text. Do get on to me if you want to speak about it informally.
Call for Editors of the Indian Law Review
The Editorial Board of the Indian Law Review (“ILR”) invites applications for the position of an Editor on its Editorial Board.
Applicants are expected to have an academic position in a law school or in a university department. Researchers who work outside the university space in research institutions are also eligible to apply. A minimum of 7 years’ academic research experience will normally be expected from applicants (a PhD or its equivalent is preferred but not required). Applicants must possess a record of publications that fits with their experience and is appropriate for their stage of academic career. Candidates who have a background in peer reviewing and/or journal editing will be preferred. We warmly invite candidates with relevant expertise on any South Asian jurisdiction to apply.
Successful candidates will undertake the following responsibilities:
Overseeing a rigorous, constructive, and supportive peer review and editorial process while maintaining high standards of ethics and collegiality.
Participating in the decision-making on acceptance, rejection and revisions of manuscripts received by the ILR.
Participating in decision-making on the governance of the ILR
Contribute to creatively furthering the mission and goals of the ILR.
Actively soliciting submissions across a range of articles, literature review and conspectus pieces, case comments and book reviews.
Applications should include:
A brief cover letter (no more than 2 A4 sides, reasonable font and margins) explaining how they satisfy the eligibility criteria,
-
A statement of purpose (no more than 1000 words) explaining their motivation for applying and their vision for the journal over the next five years, and
-
A CV (no more than 2 A4 sides, reasonable font and margins).
