And to be clear the race angle is very much why I have a problem with it.

Also why the fuck are there random Libyan terrorists? Like I get they want a reason for Doc to be in peril and a reason it's hard to get fuel but did they have to have random brown guys with guns?

I know that I am in the minority and I don't like to yuck yums but I do not like it.

This film is such a frustrating film. I want to fix it so bad. I am so glad the TV and books I grew up with that were inspired by this film were not as frustrating as this film.

Also that part with Doc on the clock tower is just padding. The story is over.

Also with the book describing how George and Elaine got together arriving just as Marty returns home and ending on his parents watching from the window as Marty is given that truck I got the sense that they are signalling "We know you got us together, Marty, so now we're helping you"

Certainly when I was watching the intro I got the Impression that Doc Brown knew Marty was about to travel back in time and was very deliberately telling him what he'd need to know.

You also avoid the weirdness of the ending essentially having Marty Quantum Leaping into a different Marty's life.

3. They really should have just committed more to the ontological paradox hand had Marty return to find things exactly like they were when he left with things only diverging once he returns because the people now know the timeline won't be altered.

Elaine is constantly grabbing Marty and trying to get close to him in a way that the film itself shows us isn't cool when Biff does it. Elaine, it's not just that he's your son, you're a creepy boundary crosser.

Marty's entire stupid plan before Biff turns up is that he's to some degree 'forward' with his mum. Just what exactly did he think he was going to do.

Elaine herself is mega creepy towards Marty. She removed his trousers for seemingly no reason on first meeting, she literally stalks him.

2. Cut out or change all the needlessly creepy character behaviour. There is no reason for George to be up a tree perving on Elaine. There is no reason for him to see Biff being forceful with Elaine and think she'll go to the Dance with him. There is no reason for Elaine to be constantly abused.

I'd like this film so much more if they did 3 changes
1. Make the characters 19 instead of 17 - the plot can be exactly the same but then it's the time travel plot making things creepy for the characters, not me going those are children stop being creepy film.
