Media driving hysteria to boost sales

Even if they win, what he's describing is an inversion of reality.

The GOP is mismanaging just about everything imaginable, and they might get punished at the polls for it. Hakeem Jeffries is about as instrumental to their prospects as a tree stump, AT BEST.

The line into absurdity was crossed when Machado got it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Almost might as well just give your paycheck to a Trump legal defense fund or something

He seems twisted and soulless enough to not care at all.

Different reasons, but I sort of hate how they co-opted the term "Medicaid" too. Medicaid was supposed to be government-run medical aid for the needy, and the "Medicaid expansion" packages are private insurance policies that are so entirely different that it makes no sense to conflate them.

Stab yourself once to earn the "right" to stab your downtrodden neighbor twice.🇺🇸

I always thought that we should replace Columbus Day with Walter Audisio Day

Thinking back to the weirdo moral panics of that era.

Tipper Gore of Parents Music Resource Center fame presumably uses the web today and I bet she gets bombarded with stuff like this because I can't imagine she's smart enough to use an ad blocker.

Yeah, no major argument with that, but I would count scandal-ridden Enron and WorldCom as part of the story there too.

Their scandalous behavior driven by lax regulations during a speculative frenzy, stoked by Greenspan's loose monetary policies.

Probably directly 100k jobs lost between them.

I don't know about stopping them, but wouldn't doubt our relative laxlck of a social safety net exacerbated any recent recession or even market lurch. Especially true after extensive subprime mortgage securitization that happened in the Bush era. The lendees often had no fallback.
