“We are all led to solidarity by a complicated array of emotional, political, material and coincidental experiences,” novelist, activist and AIDS historian Sarah Schulman said recently as she discussed her new book, The Fantasy and Necessity of Solidarity.

An article I’ve written recently for @rabble.ca discussing the implications of the shift in US-Ukraine relations for Canadian politics.

Including an exclusive interview with Dr. Frank Sysyn, director of the Center for Ukrainian Historical Research at UofT.

The hype about the ability for ChatGPT to produce Studio Ghibli style images belies the entire basis of the generative AI hype: it relies on wholesale plagiarism and copyright infringement to create content that is only deemed interesting by dint of sheer imitation. It is anti-art and anti-human.

A Pierre Poilievre government could seriously undermine access to reproductive care in Canada, in addition to the barriers that already exist, especially for Indigenous peoples.

currently writing an article about this, we're seeing a rather ironic "reclaiming" of traditional femininity in the post-girlboss feminism era. it's almost like traditional femininity is seen as a way to 'stand out' and be 'against the current' as opposed to a going against trad gender norms
I wish we could fast forward through this misogynist tradwife era and just get to the part where someone writes the feminine mystique again.
