Maybe I'm wrong, but that "I support stripping the bill" + "that is unlikely to happen" + "I will never vote to shutdown the government" doesn't seem that promising to me

Yeah, I kind of heard that a lot, from a lot of people. And I also said that quite a lot.

It's also a dogshit song in a tempo and rhythm that requires excellent musicianship to make it even listenable.

Absolutely insane that every asshole interviewed for that story is still worried about the price of eggs.

My wife and I divide work so I'm great at getting the kids ready for stuff, but signing them up for things is so hard. I'd still be looking for a Pre-K for them two years later.

Don't sell yourself short: flying with kids can be brutal if they're not socialized to not fuss. I flew with my four year old twins and they screamed so hard that the whole plane refused to jam up the aisle so I could get them off. You did the hard work of flying before you ever got on that plane.

The dad chair in the hospital *does* fold flat, but it still totally sucks ass. It's hard and too short for the average adult man. You still sleep in it, because it's the best thing you can do to help, but let's not romanticize it...

I try to just scroll past it. My wife's disabled, so I do almost all of the things they mention, but they're not talking about me. I believe Millennial men are better, as a group, than this discourse suggests, but I don't think fighting about it with them is productive.

I would go ATLiens through Stankonia. I don't love the middle section of Aquemini, but I thought the consensus is that it's pretty airtight (5 mics in The Source and whatnot)?

I would never trust a free VPN. In any free service, you're the product. I've been happy with Proton, and it's certainly cheap enough if you pay annually.

"The best Prince song that Prince never wrote" has been a thriving cottage industry at least since The Love Below won a Grammy. Bruno has flirted with it so much that I think they have a date next week, but I confess that 'NPG without Tony M' is a very alluring prospect to me.

An eyewitness/written account is mediated, while we can see with our own eyes what happened yet they still tell us something different. What happened to George Floyd was similar, but the lies were mostly about the technical cause of death. This is almost like claiming Chauvin never knelt on Floyd.

Absolutely, and thank you for the links (I definitely wasn't aware of all these cases). What's happening here (I think, at least) is a difference of degree not of type. They're contradicting available evidence to a degree that wasn't even possible before the advent of video.

We need to all be watching and taking notes. Minneapolis is doing is proud, and Philly needs to do the same when it's our turn next.

You're absolutely right. The perpetrators have state violence often lie about the victims, but I'm surprised in this case at how fast they lied and how comprehensively their story doesn't match easily proven facts, in a case with basically no ambiguity at all. This is Fred Hampton level with video.

The best R.E.M. song, in my opinion. Good choice.

She's a filthy liar and evidence that Second Amendment rights have always and continue to be contingent on whether right-wing goons like you.
