Decepticon scout named Faultline.

Currently excavating planet Earth for 𝖿̶𝗈̶𝗌̶𝗌̶𝗂̶𝗅̶𝗌̶ energon deposits.

Please excuse lapses in replies, internet is spotty down in the tunnels.

“Hey Lumin, how did you meet Pirelli? They’re very friendly. Most organic species do not react so fearlessly.”

extension. This will make Lumin and Pirelli’s traversal into the earth easier as they score a smoother circumference. His numerous pedes move cautiously as he senses the curious feline trot underneath his form and zip between his pedes. He sounds a quick laugh at their fearless playfulness.

“I have crystals, but some refined energon would be nice. There’s a cluster near where I exited. I already dug out around it, so we can rest there.”

Ensuring he is being followed, Faultline begins to trek back toward the tunnel’s exit, the spurs just behind the drill rising at their fullest

While he does enjoy working his fangs into crystals, there is something to be said about liquified energon and how easily it slides down the intake. It takes far less energy to consume, and his systems less time to process it. It is a kind offer.

drill so soon after tunneling. It will be warm, but not enough to cause harm. Hearing Lumin agree for a quick detour is a relief from both the torrential downpour and to take a sorely needed recharge. Most do not offer him refined energon knowing that he usually fuels from raw crystals.

There’s curiosity tinging his field. It is not common for cybertronians to acquire organic companions, and he’s sure there’s a story to be told there.

“They almost sound like a sparkling. How cute!”

Thanks to the rain’s cooling properties, Faultline does not think to caution Lumin patting his

That thread of thought is silenced at the low rumble emanating from the cougar, as the rather ticklish scrape of incisors nip at one of his feelers.

“Hello, Pirelli.”

He over enunciates the clearly Earth derived name, testing its sound out for the first time.

Faultline missed this sort of camaraderie. Back on Cybertron his creche mates and him were affectionate with each other like this daily. The opportunity to do so now was scarce, with Insecticon kin spread far and wide and further divided by faction due to the war.

Faultline was soothed by the pleasant EM field now apparent due to Lumin’s proximity.

“I will alright with some recharge. I just was eager to see you again after so long.”

He was glad that Lumin accepted his greeting with no nervousness and even flicked their antenna and wings in return.

[overdue some recharge and this weather provided the means for a small respite.]

[Fautline pulls his feelers back and flattens them to his plating right behind his drill.]

“I’m already rambling. Anyway, thank you for meeting with me. Perhaps we can head back into the tunnel until this sky coolant passes?”

[Despite his best efforts, fatigue weighed his field down. He was +

“You look well, Lumin. And I see you have a…”

[He paused to rack the incomplete folder containing earth species and could not find an exact match to what the creature was.]

“A feline? But not one I recognize. And too small to be a smilodon. Records state those went extinct long ago.”

[approached the small yellow minibot and greeted him. His feelers making featherlight brushes against Lumin’s helm and shoulders. They paused briefly at the red autobot decal and then at the organic creature nestled in Lumin’s servos before continuing on.]

[ helm ache if he kept them out, but he wanted to greet Lumin properly. The insecticon way. Many cybertronian subspecies had their own dialect, with the most well known being aerials and their wingspeak. Insecticons had their own too, and it was with chitters of his multiple pedes that he +]

That was quite a surprise as most trips with far longer trajectories he was lucky to find one, maybe two clusters. Three was excessive and proved this Michigan area was rife with resources. That information within his report will undoubtedly be met with swift approval for backup, so the clusters +]

[Faultline’s alt mode quickly paved the way underground, the layers of rock a pleasant give against his drill and the soil soft and cool as it slid along his segmented plating. His sensors took note of three energy emitting clusters that he long ago learned to mean that raw energon was near.]

[His torque system onlined with a low mechanical hum, giving a few reboot sequence rotations before spinning at an RPM that made the flute lines blur. With a sharp upward launch, gravity then drove him downward to sharply pierce into the earth with a loud rumble.]

[Faultline summarily rose from the plush ground and let out a deep vent that had hints of a rattle before transforming into his alt mode. His bipedal form warping and condensing down to latch seamlessly with his tail to form a segmented form that moved in a smooth, undulating line.]

“Yeah! I’ll admit I’m still a bit shocked you of all mechs responded. But I’m glad I kept your commlink even after all this time. I just checked, you’ll probably arrive a bit before me since I’m drilling in new territory. My comms will likely go down while I travel, so I’ll see you there.”

[Upon receiving the new coordinates, his systems ran quick calculations and an internal marker illuminated in the corner of his visual feed. It would take him further south by a couple hundred miles. A comparatively short distance from his usual excavation routes.]
January 6, 2026 at 12:42 AM
[Faultline chirred as he heard the exact moment Lumin recalled who he was and then mused at the odds of seeing them again after so long and on an alien planet of all places. They sounded much like the courier they recalled, swift in glyph yet kind in spark.]
