This is at the very least debatable, since the creators think different things, there was no color, and she was colored with light skin very early on. Also she was initially thought of as Asian.

Like, yes, this is a reasonable thing, but let's not pretend it's the only truth for "real fans".

I never ever associated the random part to be the bad luck. I always thought the flavor just was "If you mess with this, something bad happens to you." I like that card more now.

I'd say not worth it unless there's a legendary theme.

It's not even the majority. Universes Beyond are extremely well received and most of the sales are from Magic players (as opposed to people just coming in). If most people with no interest in the IP didn't get it, there would be a significant drop.

If that were the case you couldn't have things like Candy Trail. (Well, you could but it would be weird that they have an extra ability that's strictly better than its intrinsic ability.)

There's definitely an echo chamber online. Nobody who has anything good to say about Universes Beyond wants to be flooded with the kind of comments you see about it. Even just passively reading them is exhausting.
