Camellia sasanqua “Yuletide”
This time of the year and until we have a hard frost, blooms beautifully. I cut branches and bring them into the house for arrangements and bouquets! Great for Christmas!

A dear longtime friend passed away, today. I was able to talk to him a couple days ago, I am happy with what I said!

Here are my plants of Ugni molinae in the ground next to a low block wall.
Worth growing in the PNW!

Ugni molinae is a lovely evergreen plant originating from Chile which has similar ecosystem to the PNW. This particular strain by this company came through our very cold winter, two years ago, and this summer produced tasty berries.

I installed more plants in what was the bare gravel triangle. The only way to get this area to be green with plants, required me to provide the plants, labor, fertilizer and mulch.
I have learned over the years how important mulch circles are for new plants in our dry season!

More rain gear shots!
It is that time of the year! It has now rained steadily for two days and may drizzle for a few more, but I am prepared!

Ahh! Rain gear in Oregon! How could we work, what could we do outside without it?!?

One of my passions is to bring forgotten/ ignored pieces of land back into growing lush foliage, pollinator blooms and fruit whole removing invasives! I seek to plant natives where and when I can!
This is an ugly triangle of bare ground near my house.

Abies grandis on my walk in the neighborhood.

Well, if you sit, or in this case set, too long in the forest here in the PNW, the moss and the licorice ferns decide to literally grow on top of you!

Some Autumns my Arbutus unedo performs beautifully, sharing its bounty for the birds and mammals to enjoy. Its fruit is sweet and squishy! Not everyone appreciates it to eat, but it is always a feast for the eyes!

Just removed the screen filled with fallen leaves off my water feature in our back garden. It is a bit flattened from that experience but it still looks pretty good, all in all! I love the sound while working in my back yard!

On the left a peccary that wandered in and began licking my calf! I was quite surprised! In the middle photo fish and plantain lunch served on banana leaves, on the right a young woman artist with Barb.
