Yesterday I got to tour Open Door Care in Ossining, which serves hundreds of patients each day, many of whom rely on Medicaid. The cuts Mike Lawler voted for this year are a direct threat to community health centers like Open Door that keep our families and neighbors healthy.

I proudly displayed a Pride flag on my desk every day until I left the FBI. Even after Kash took over and I was warned to take it down.
This is exactly what we feared would happen. Purging gay people for being open about who we are. Calling our free speech “inappropriate.”
We have to stop them.

Mike Lawler and his allies are about to shut down the government rather than take action to keep your insurance premiums from skyrocketing. New Yorkers can't afford to kick this can down the road, but Lawler would rather play political games than help us avoid soaring costs.

24 years after the 9/11 attacks, New York remains the #1 target for terrorism. I'm disturbed that New York is being singled out for cuts to counterterrorism funding while FBI agents trained to keep us safe from terror threats are reassigned for political stunts.

At today's powerful memorial commemorating the anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we came together to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks or from related illnesses, and the heroic firefighters and police officers who rushed in to save lives. We will never forget.

Yesterday I joined a community forum in New City with health and homecare providers and patient advocates to hear about their critical work and the impact that Medicaid cuts will have on those they serve.
