From @avac.org 's always brilliant Global Health Watch: The inclusion of gender affirming care & DEI continues this Administration’s ongoing mischaracterization of existing foreign assistance programs, & attacks on programs that are trans inclusive or seek to address racial and gender disparities.

Your ZIP code shouldn’t dictate your health. But in the U.S. South, home to most of the country’s new HIV diagnoses, it often does.

$400M saved. Billions more slashed. The U.S. Congress has approved a recissions package that guts global health & humanitarian aid. While PEPFAR was spared, significant funding for other programs was clawed back. It’s time for public and private leaders to step up.

www.fcaaids.org/news/fcaa-st...
A graphic with a quote in the center: “The unwavering commitment of FCAA members, HIV advocates, and allies helped to ensure PEPFAR didn’t endure further cuts and can continue to support HIV services for many of the world’s most impacted communities. However, this victory comes against a backdrop of clawbacks of already appropriated funds across a wide range of global health, humanitarian, and foreign assistance programs.” Read FCAA’s full statement on the Recissions Act of 2025.

🚫 Today and every day, we say no to stigma—for women, LGBTQ+ people, people in the U.S. South, the global majority, sex workers, people who use drugs, migrants, detainees, and all people living with and vulnerable to HIV.

We stand with you. #ZeroHIVStigmaDay
Multi-colored ribbon with text to the right, reading “I support women and girls, LGBTQ+ people, people of the U.S. South, the global majority, sex workers, people who use drugs, migrants, detainees, and all people and places impacted HIV” with #ZeroHIVStigmaDay underneath both.

I’ve been talking with HIV activists since Trump took office.
Their organizing is rooted in pivotal social movements in America: AIDS to civil rights.

My reporting started in a Black church in the Mississippi Delta. It was the perfect place to begin. kffhealthnews.org/news/article...

“As LGBTQI+ movements are increasingly abandoned by governments, philanthropy must step up. The...most important thing that foundations can do is move new, big, flexible funding to LGBTQI+ orgs on the frontlines.”
