Computer things, sometimes I draw pictures of data. Sometimes I also take pictures or make simple noises in complicated ways.

Day job: BigQuery @ Google Cloud.
Ah, yes. I have “fond” memories of running coax through the drop ceiling of my parents’ dental office. Twice! Once with thinnet and the second time with a thicknet trunk and vampire taps!

I had an Ethernet PCMCIA card… for my Apple Newton 110.

They’re gonna be really excited by our sophomore album Tightly Covered, the follow up to Coming Out Clean.

I personally haven’t had the courage to try it yet. 🙂 but there are plenty of the folks on the Discord to help out. There’s also a community firmware and controller that is much more tricked out (z axis sag compensation etc)

It requires a little patience but people tool steel, including stainless, with both flavors of Carvera on the regular.

Now all you need is a Carvera 🙂

I mean, that would make a pretty amazing Addams Family/Munsters low rider…

Hah, the exact same setup. I’m actually thinking about machining a plate so I can take the weight horn off. Seems like the horn plate provides some support for the pulley. But it also may not matter during operation.

Hah! I just converted my plate loaded extension/curl to use a cable attachment (for a VOLTRA) so I will have load at the bottom. I fear I will regret this.

Also, that dude was really into advanced smoking technology.

I was watching a talk by Alan Kay years ago and this is basically how old USAF data disks worked. Decoder was at a well-known sector. Kind of a proto virtual method.

The number of times I think to myself “you know there’s nothing stopping me from putting up a giant ham radio antenna” is certainly not zero…

Pretty much the same as my Dad. Back issues of Byte, Antic, Compute and Car and Driver. You know, in case you needed it for reference.

I miss Byte. I kinda want to build an S100 bus machine now.

Exactly. The goal of the agent is to extract the logic from whatever language you just made up to express it. If that happens to be a statement of work, fine, but it’s not “the” language. That’s just a very verbose C and not really moving the needle.

And its never not funny

I mean, just because nobody pays you doesn’t mean you need to stop. Either building or competition. In fact the building specifically probably gets way more interesting. As for competition go look at 40-50 triathlon age brackets. I think people are scared of the lack of structure in retirement.

Turns out “Statement of Work” isn’t a particularly good programming language… It even has the “now I have two problems” aspect of contracting out work.

We had that model of 300TD growing up! The engine tends to destroy the transmission. Rear facing trunk seat is great for roadtrips to Disneyland when you are 7. Less so if you are able to go on all the rides.
