I think a huge part of the love of this game comes down to people being starved for NEW. This game dared to be NEW with a culture we're not used to seeing in RPGs. And that's awesome and needed, but I think it skewed its reception. I'm very invested in seeing how this will be talked about in 5 years

Yeah, that was the whole reason I picked up the game (plus hearing it was painfully depressing which is my VIBE). It's a hard camp to be in because at this point people think negative talk about it is all bad faith or 'you didn't play the game.'

Combat reminds me loosely of skyward sword, but in a nostalgic way. The system is far more refined than point and swing. After the tutorial section where they throw you into sparring I immediately got my ass handed to me from how fast it was. It really feels like a true swordfight

The music straight out the gate is blowing me away. I'm a sucker for a french horn, sue me. I was expecting this flavor of music, granted, but I was not expecting the score to be as sweeping and as grand as it is
