From May 8 of 2024 - a Lapland Longspur. Gorgeous male in breeding plumage. He was found on Noyo Headlands in Fort Bragg by a local falconer who shared with the birding community :) Thanks, Micheal! (that's how he spells his name)

weird bird for the Mendocino coast - a Dickcissel. Named for its song that supposedly sounds like "Dick-Dick-Dick-cissel".... it's a midwestern species that should be in southern Mexico, Central and S America by now. This bird was last seen on December 2nd.
