I retired from the BNSF in 2015. Interests: art, creative thought, plants, mushrooms, foraging, herbalism, gardening, frogs and graffiti.

Things I miss about working are the people (most anyway) and being able to watch rail art rolling by.
My last mushroom forage Oct 14, before ny foraging season was cut short. P. ostreatus. Ware the ladders & gravity are not your friend.

(click full img) My long practice to stay connected to my surroundings has been to notice small details and textures. I use them as iPhone wallpaper and upload screenshots to Flickr as my Lockscreen Diary.

Zoey and I finally got down to the bottoms to visit the old cottonwood. I did another arm-spam measurement. It is three and a half at shoulder height.

My lunch: soup with foraged mushrooms, my wife’s homemade bread (mixed grains & acorn flour). Both are leftovers so I don’t recall the ingredients. Mushrooms: chicken of the woods, puffballs & seasoned w/ dryad saddle shoyu.
