I really liked the idea of Cactus so am really bummed to see the current situation. But I can see how self hosting a matrix home server with all the rooms for all the comments can be a huge pita, in addition to all the ephemeral anonymous accounts.

It's the year 2025 and I don't understand why Appel still doesn't know how to handle a system update.

How macOS handles system updates:
You choose when to download and install the updates. That process can take anywhere between 30min to 1hr. After that is done, the system immediately reboots with no chance to delay that. The reboot also takes significantly longer (up to 20min or so).
