Not even merely draconian age verification.
The AG buried the lede as the rule does not specify porn but “material harmful to minors,” the same language used to ban Pride merch in FL and managa in TX.

She also maintains most online porn is so heinous even age verification is not enough.

As someone who has their identity in serious jeopardy for the rest of their life because AT&T decided to hold on to their ssn for ALMOST A DECADE AFTER NO LONGER USING THEIR SERVICES, I don't trust ANY fuckin ID-checking service when they say they'll delete it after x amount of days.

It affects every site or platform thats more than a third "pornographic" (which knowing my deep red state government, means "anything LGBTQ")

Idk if this will lead to a state block from here like with Mississippi, but I guess if I vanish from bluesky after Nov. 30 you'll know why.

Oh goody, my state forced through age verification without making any new laws since they failed twice to pass one (instead the AG added a rule to an existing brick and mortar porn store law to make it apply to the entirety of the internet) :/

Yeah pretty much gonna get scraped everywhere since there's no 100% foolproof protections for artists, so at this point I've just been sticking to places where AI sloppers are for the most part shunned/banned, or can be easily blocked en masse. Not great business-wise, but better mental-health-wise.

While they did do the shitty midjourney partnership, I wanna point out that they DO have a way to opt out of scraping in your blog settings. Annoyingly, you have to do it for each individual blog you run XP But at least it's there, unlike instagram and shitter
