I imagine she doesn't want to lock in a reputation as "that trans congresswoman" before even being seated, which is what she would risk by vocally fighting them on this issue. That's why it's up to other Dems to fight that battle for her, and they're completely AWOL so far

I spend so much time writing and revising almost every post I make that its hardly worth the effort at all. Meanwhile it's nothing but off the cuff zingers irl, I need some balance 😭

Learn what exactly? "Trump lies about everything and we shouldn't elect him again"? I don't think the people who determined this outcome are capable of learning any lesson more general than that unless the media also learns something about how to report on political demagogues

Hard to say since the other side of the coin from discipline is "getting results" - the new cabinet will be far more willing to carry out his whims but if doing so requires any kind of actual competency then they may not last long. Although I'm not convinced Trump cares that much about results

That's exactly my concern- our system can apparently survive being run by a bunch of smarmy assholes who know not to stick their necks out *too* far, but can it survive a pack of true believers who genuinely think that loyalty makes them untouchable?
