Stepping gently on Turrbal and Jagera country in the great southern land. I talk to plants, adore my grandkids, love retired life, #renewables & #Nirvana. Peace, love, empathy. xxx
ps it's the groundwater ones who will be building the enormous deck (pronounced with a Kiwi accent, he he 🤭)

Sorry to dump here ‪@sallylawry.bsky.social‬. I've got active, noisy construction sites both sides of my house! In legal action with one over channelling concentrated groundwater into my land; the others have what's coming to them over their windows! (Probs not much, because BCC won't care.)

At this point I'd just be happy with what I believe is a blanket rule across the UK, that hinged windows can only open towards the street. Not my loser neighbours - they've got them almost all hinged so they open out to look at my back yard. Other places only allow sliding windows on house sides.

.. to avoid invading neighbours' privacy .... eg windows above 1.7m high, lattice screens hung outside windows, frosted glass, etc. But these losers' amateur design hasn't used one of them.
No point complaining, because they're only vibes, or suggestions. Not rules. 😢

... do not specify requirements, just "vibes". Eg other neighbour covered almost their entire small block with a "longhouse", with windows all down one side to use my garden as the house's main outlook and light.
Meanwhile CP acknowledges special requirements for side windows, listing six methods ..

Brisbane City Council has been Lib controlled for yonks, and the latest City Plan (2014) is all about cutting red tape and making it easier for developers.
So you don't have to notify neighbours of your plans, you don't have to use professionals for the designs, and sections of the CP ...

Ugh! Sorry to hear Sally. Decks are like big stages in an outdoor theatre. Once you're up higher, sounds project all around, along with the noise of walking and banging around on the wooden boards. A party (or conversation) there is way louder than a party inside or at ground level!

Yes she's a gem and it's horrible for these carers who really do care, yet management doesn't back them properly.

I spoke to a carer who was in tears on Friday. Terribly concerned about one resident's failing abilities, management denying patient needs extra care or that anything has changed. Doing her best to report upwards; not being heard.

There's a lot of bluster, carry-on and literally rolling eyes and blaming their own staff when things go wrong. V. good at platitudes, less so at responding and taking action. Everything run for convenience of staff.

Somehow I think not. China is sure to follow the wisdom of Sun Tzu: "when your enemy is fucking up, get out of the way and let them have all the attention." (My translation!)

Terrifying for anyone who knows a frail, elder person. Tbh even in care, they can be stuck for some time before anyone realises.

A supermarket raid once a month for staples, buy your bread and milk at local stores, then eat lots of take away until you finally need to drag yourself back to a supermarket. Then go in the "quiet" hours early on a Tuesday morning, scheduled for ppl like me who are triggered by these places.
