Ooh yeah, my mother's friend once resigned because she'd become irreplaceable against her will (MD in a remote town), and she was burnt out from never being able to use her vacation days or PTO because the place would rather just force her to take lump payments to avoid having to hire a temp.

Depends on how serious she was when setting it up, she's a mechanic and machinist after all. c:

This very much what happens to me as well, it's why I hate when I have to schedule stuff for days off at midday or early afternoon, because I know I'll be stuck in a mental holding pattern for hours since all I can think of is when I need to leave.

Thank you! I enthusiastically love this, because I do genuinely want to simply pet and stroke fluffy naked anthros who are enjoying it. :3 Also handling thick long hair is awesome, I would certainly do that.

I've already begun to not answer conversation starters in social media if the person doesn't give me a non-generic enough reason as to why they're contacting me and what they are looking for, because scammers, spammers, and bots have become so endemic in the furry circles as well.

Because Flora is known for always thinking everything through before engaging in her ideas, after all. xP
I'm imagining the aftermath with a whiny Flora being scrubbed by Trace in a wooden tub like Keith with Laura in a sketch, him gently complimenting the pancakes despite "a bit" of added hair.

I mentioned this in the quoted message, but AFAIK due to development hell it was considered graphically outdated when it came out thanks to the advent of 3D graphics and also old-fashioned in general. But it's indeed an example of the pinnacle of 2D pixel graphics and animation.

I'll say that I've always been surprised about this, since as a teen I did the puzzle without having found the fossil clue, and back then considered it interesting but not particularly hard - only to find out later that apparently it was That One Puzzle for many in The Dig.

I do! I have an original copy although I'm not entirely sure where the CD has ended up, however I did rebuy it to have a version which works easily in modern systems.
The irony is that AFAIK it spent years in development hell and was considered outdated when it was out thanks to up-and-coming 3D.

You don't even have to be popular, I once uploaded a commission art with a story to FA, and someone didn't like the ending so they had an LLM generate a new ending and proudly posted it into the comments under my submission.

It's basically possible to get any replacement part for them in my experience, however the downside is that they're wired with a *very* heavy (but indestructible) cable, plus they cost like $350 *without* a cable which you must buy separately for another $50-$100.

I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT290 headphones in 2003, and I'm still using them, although they are wired headphones and I *have* replaced parts over time since the headband padding and velours don't last forever. Also I once shattered one of the ear muff forks, and put in new elements in 2024.

They've all essentially made themselves into critical infrastructure all while hiding behind the "private company" moniker so that they can make their own rules and enforce them in near-complete impunity.

Unfortunately in what comes to worldwide payment processors and payment cards, there's effectively no alternative to the likes of Visa, Mastercard and PayPal because the barrier of entry is immense and the fixed costs are also very high, which means that there isn't much room for competition.
