#KnittingForNiblings I haven’t shown you these finished pants that will be going to expecting parents. I made the smallest size because I had already made something with the pale pink yarn, so there wasn’t enough to make the same size. FYI they are going to different families. Info in Alt #KnitSky
A hand knit pair of trousers for a small baby is laid flat. Knit mainly from pale pink yarn they have lacy ribbed cuffs that can be folded over, and a lacy ribbed wide waistband with a drawstring pulled through for extra hold. The top half of the waistband is knit in light blue yarn, instead of pale pink. There are three buttons that are not evenly spaced because I almost never close buttons, so really I was only concerned with the top button. It‘s a teal coloured wooden button. It was knit using countdown calendar minis. One colour scheme runs from peach to orange, to brown, to purple. The other runs from olive to spring green, to pale green, to pink. The collar is knit in olive, so the following colours are each worked with two consecutive contrasting colours. You cannot tell from this picture, but the pullover was knit at a time of extreme anxiety, when we were waiting to find out how bad my mother’s cancer diagnosis was, during a global pandemic. Because of this my tension was quite a bit tighter than I had swatched, and the pullover has 0 ease, which is not as planned, but works. 🧶 Back to #KnittingForNiblings. This is the first pair of trousers I made with the Siri pattern by Sanne Bjerregaard. It‘s supposedly sized for 6-9 months old, but seems quite large, even though I got gauge. 🤷 Anyway, it is going to a future nibling, arriving in a few months. #KnitSky

🧶 I‘m too itchy to knit with floofy yarn a lot. I like the way the strand of light brown alpaca gives a slight halo, and brings the colours together, but this pullover does not see as much use, as it deserves, and is one of my very few projects to have a floofy strand. #ShowMeYourKnits #KnitSky

🧶I forgot what I was posting about here 🙈 It‘s been a bad pain week though, so it‘s not surprising. This is the second #KnittingForNiblings project I finished in the last two months. The cousins can match, but not match, now. This 2-colour version is sized for 3-4 year olds. #KnitSky
A hand knit children‘s jacket is laid flat. It‘s knit in 2-colour brioche with 2 undyed colourways of the same yarn. The yarn is Hey Mama Wolf Ylva. It has five rainbow coloured snaps to close it, and is could be worn with any side out. The collar stitches are picked up though, so one side is a bit less neat than the other.

🧶 #KnittingForNiblings this autumn started with this jacket for the 1 year old in squishy brioche. The parents have had to switch out the rainbow snaps because they didn’t hold well. Good thing I had knit button holes, so it was no problem. #KnitSky
