Had a lovely evening at @linneansociety.bsky.social, listening to @aquadan1.bsky.social and generally being nerdy about #QueerNature, queer people in the sciences and why it's important to talk about both. Always great to hear different perspectives, Thank you! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

A massive thank you to all the lovely people who joined a #QueerNature tour at the Powell-Cotton Museum over the last 2 weeks. Being able to share my work has been such a rewarding experience, I cannot wait to continue this project. Keep your eyes peeled for more Queer Nature in the future 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As part of my Master's project at Uni Edinburgh, I developed "Queer Nature". The guided tour explores LGBTQ+ behaviours in animals, based on the dioramas at the Powell-Cotton Museum. Yesterday was the first time I presented it to a small audience, to prepare for its launch in August 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

There are many rubbish things going on in the world right now, so it was a nice change of pace to see many familiar faces come and celebrate Canterbury Pride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

My cousin's pre-teen sons informed me that I have a cool workplace (The Powell-Cotton museum). I tend to agree, but it's nice to have their discerning approval.

Object cleaning may not be the most glamorous job in #Museums, but seeing the immediate effects is definitely satisfying.

New here, so to start this of *just* right, here's a picture of my parents cat, being ridiculously pretty.
