Over thinker.
Prey (2022) is the only good #Predator movie.
Predator (1987) gets some marks for being original, but casting Arnie as a charismatic leader was really asking way too much of him.
Predators (2010) has it's moments, nicely shot in places. But characters all awful, wished them all dead.

The last few days proves beyond any doubt what many of us always suspected - almost everyone on the right of US politics who claimed to care about the Constitution was just pretending.

Which thing that #Trump is doing this week has YOU the most terrified? The needless trade war? The purge of people in the justice system that scrutinised him? Dismantling of federal government? The wild blaming of minorities and women for air accidents?

The more areas that #elonmusk blunders into, the more people realise that he's an idiot at the thing they know about. And this breaks the spell that he's hyper-competent at everything, and so the illusion that his blunders are actually smart moves we don't understand comes crashing down.

Watching the response from the #neilgaiman fandom over the last months, I'm struck by the depressing realisation that it's really important to tell these stories in this much awful detail. People find it far too easy to dismiss when it's a broad, sanitised allegation of violent sexual misconduct.
Last July, Neil Gaiman, author of The Sandman and American Gods, was accused of sexual assault. Lila Shapiro goes deep on the allegations and looks at his upbringing in Scientology and his relationship with his wife, Amanda Palmer, and what she knew.

No, it really isn't a "win". Best we can say is that, by an invisibly thin margin, the failure of the US justice system was not totally absolute.

Opinion | Trump being sentenced is a small but important win for the rule of law
The president-elect won't face any fines or prison time, but he couldn't stop the court from doing its job.

I feel like "machine" is overselling it here.
I think of it more as a kind of festering bog of disinformation, propaganda, hate & discrimination.

Trump's tariff plan will be less calamitous/brilliant than people predict/hope. He'll impose a handful of tariffs, and then later claim that it was a famous victory, and would have been even more so had the deep state not prevented him going further, which was unnecessary, because it worked so well.

Pulling CO2 out of the air, rather than avoiding putting it in, is pretty much always going to be less efficient. And worse, sending money this way allows the fossil fuel industry to continue operating, making a profit, distorting the market that should be rewarding operators of renewable energy.
