Despite this, you'd be pretty hard pressed to argue that we should tear down all of our factories tomorrow and return to hand crafting everything. If there is any use-case for AI, and I dont think its unreasonable to think there will be atleast some, it's likely AI follows a similar trajectory.

I can't stop seeing parallels to the advent of factories. The Luddites were 100% right: factories led to a consolidation of wealth, exploitation of labor, and quality goods replaced by cheap but inferior alternatives.
