I don't disagree with you at all. But recently, I saw the...place of states' rights... when there's a maniac in the White House and the Congress and Supreme Court are not reining him in. I'm not talking about the history of the principle of states' rights, but about how we could use it for a time.

Well, that does make sense. Hope you looked up my second reference. Not going to defend the deplorable policies of the republican leaders there. But that doesn't mean 100% of the people who live there voted for them. That's what confused me about your statement.
