Ik you want to think that Pokopia doesn’t set a precident for people to be worried about Nintendo IPs being GKC but it really does when it comes to 3rd party developers working on Nintendo IPs. They will very try to get away with it on something Smaller like a F Zero or Starfox and the like

If Sega is the one developing it and they feel the need to cut corners on expensese(which they probably will do cause they’re using money on a game that may not sell well), they will do everything to take the cheeper route which includes Game Key Cards. Better to leave it in house
