I rolled my eyes at the wagons. I'm not versed in the history of the time but it struck me as anachronistic. I could see it as a bit of visual shorthand for "these are colonizers" but wasn't necessary and, of course, your other points stand.

What about a vertically oriented impulse? It would probably destroy the graceful swoop of the pylon...

And remember the myopia of expertise: True polymaths are rare, and generally, the more expert in one field the less so in others, even if they seem related. I'd trust Neil Degrasse Tyson about anything in astrophysics, but substantially less in say, Philosophy of Science.

The other day one of my cats begged to go outside, vomited on the grass, and then came right back in.

I could have cried for joy.

I do remember Fox News talking shit when he died though. Miserable fuckers.

Break dawn all you want, but do it quiet, some of us are trying to sleep.

I hope the actors playing the hybrids are having as much fun with the part as I am with watching them. Really nailed "kid brain in adult body".

Their benefit is they provoke imagination. I do not understand this desire of some to have every answer fed to them by some authority.

Make up some head canon. It's fun!

Not entirely convinced it would be responsible to unleash humanity on the greater universe.

Even so, if our best estimates for the sun's life are off by a couple of magnitudes, we still have several million years and more pressing issues now.

With how many different species and space faring traditions are in the Federation? The number of variants so far is positively restrained. Especially in the post-Klingon Cold War era.

Go for broke. You're only kinda sorta a military anyway.

Love this design. Looks like a brick shithouse. Just love it.

I've heard it said the first tragedy of humanity is that we have a desire to live forever and a certainty we will not.

It sounds pretentious to say this about games but there's some resonance that makes you dump allowance money trying to wipe the smile off that smug ape.

"Naturally flavored with other natural flavors" is one of those peak capitalism phrases. Like it edges satire.

Radioactive death by a weapon that looks straight out of the Acme catalog. Wiley Coyote fucks with this, and so do I.

I love my submarines in space, and I Iove a good juxtaposition of design language and this looks like Star Trek/Star Wars done right. The little pods on the planes of the sail tower makes me think of a Star Destroyer.

As Dan Savage often says, if clowns raped kids as often as pastors (or scout masters), it'd be illegal to take your kids to the circus.

How the fuck do you have an MA in philosophy as the article's author does and put out an argument this poor?

I've been following this for a bit now, in large part because of the ship-style. You've done a fantastic job.
