i've thought about it for my neck ill be honest, even without gender stuff it's like my least favorite part to get hair on

i will add that i think "not wanting lower quality stuff" in that context is a bit more difficult b/c if they create a production environment where the only expected way to make anything is cheap and bad then people won't have any options given enough time goes by

i'm genuinely confused by this sentiment b/c we've seen this approach hit other physical industries and we've been inundated with cheaper/worse garbage for the past 20-40 years, worse as time goes on. Why would it work in software? It literally degrades society, and I'm not saying that w/ hyperbole

(e.g. there is no "perfect" control scheme, camera, perspective, narrative, etc etc etc. it's all rooted in what the playing public has literacy with and how wide-spread that is. everyone used to know how to play rts, for example, now you're nearing or over 30 if you're very familiar with it)

anyway, this is me bitching about the method of critique more than the actual critique, i think a lot of re-discovery of past outcomes in video games is actually pretty cool, considering we have definitely seen a sort of blobbification of how "play" operates in "big" games.
