It's both bio (based on trees!) and mechanical-ish (mathematical algorithm).

Okay, so this is sport, not DK, BUT I have always thought this cable pattern/texture is so cool.

This comment might not have been meant for me, but it's accurate- having the right buttons is what finally made me get off my butt and finish this. I bought a box of colorful buttons recently, and suddenly I've been on a finishing spree!

It'll go in my donation box for Pine Ridge (the reservation in South Dakota), which I'm hoping to send out soon.
So not a hard deadline, but it's so nice to have it out of my to-do pile!

One caveat with these pens - the color can (will?) reappear with cold, so depending on the climate you live in, the lines may come back if your house gets chilly.
(No personal experience with this, just sharing a warning I've seen a few times from fellow stitchers.)
