Yes, that is what all charismatic dictators do before they gain enough power to persecute people. People thought they democratically elected someone who cared about their struggles and then he undermined every institution. Feels very similar to now.

TVs used to be the reliable things that didn’t nag us… until they did.
I remember being able to watch TV without having to enter a password.
Also remember being able to leave it on all day for background noise and news without it deciding I wasn’t paying attention and shutting off.

Audio tool licensing is ridiculously stupid. We’re still holding onto very old USB dongles and praying they don’t break sometime.
