Been peer checking solid angle calculations. They used elliptic integrals coded in Python. I used Mathcad. I could not get agreement and it drove me 🌰 . Finally cracked it; the Python library definitions were different. It was like finding the piece to a 🧩.

We’ve thinning out our root vegetable bed comprising leeks, parsnips, neeps (swedes) and beetroot. Pleased to see a few vegetables that could make a decent meal. However, something been eating these neep leaves but the main vegetables look in tact.

First harvest of beans 🫘 and mange tout. Some of the bean plants flowered but produced no crop and some produced nothing at all. I think they were planted too close together that’s a lesson for next year.

Whilst on my knees weeding I noticed that my broad beans developed pods. Only a couple of weeks ago they were in flower. Amazing how quickly things move on. Also some of them developed brown leaves which I think is due to overcrowding these came out.

First foray into no-dig.
Lay down cardboard covered with local manure and compost topped with top soil. I underestimated the amount, only half the bed filled for now, but the sweet corn (Incredible variety) had to go in as they were getting too big for their pots.
