Yes. At least in America there is no reason why there are people starving, homeless, or dying from a lack of healthcare. No it will not be the best home or the best food but it should be the minimum to survive. The incentive to work will come from wanting more than the minimum.

No matter what everyone should have the basic right to food, water, shelter, and healthcare especially in a wealthy country like America. Maybe we should stop funding proxy wars and help the people

5k would be great for covering expenses. Better than nothing BUT the reality is that giving birth should be free. It should not cost an extra penny. Every insurance should cover child birth and complications 100%
