Uber is not a safety net, tho it comes in handy. Taxis have always existed too, but hailing an Uber on your phone does feel more “God-send” like. But also, NOT a safety net. I’ve had catastrophic transmission trouble this weekend and tomorrow am opting to take reliable direct public transport.
